Getting Outside
I've been seeing little plants starting to grow outside. The trees have their little buds getting bigger. It's May!
We've been out on a 4-wheeler ride and had a campfire along the trail with steak chunks and chips. The first one of the year. Mom brought her little dog Chewy all bundled up in his camo. Mom even wore her new NRA hat for the event. It was a sloppy, muddy ride all the way out and back. And yes... the mosquitoes are out! Ahhh. Good times.
Klint and Kris are gearing up for motocross to start. The schedule has been re-arranged to account for the late snowfalls and as far as I know, I think the race just might actually happen this weekend.
I have gone to the park with Karla and her kids across the street from my office, another first of the summer. When the sky does decide to be sunny, it feels so good. When Karla and I were in grade school she had a reputation for giving really good tire swings. I was prone to motion sickness and so I was not a regular patron of her rides. Her boys have discovered this talent of Karla's and have begun to employ it every time they go to a park with a tire swing. Nunley Park is one such park. After Karla got them good and dizzy, they made their way to the merry-go-round and as I was in the immediate vicinity, I was nominated to power that contraption. So round and round they kept going. They actually asked me to go slower! Not long after that, they piled in the car and headed home and I crossed the street back to my office. Karla called shortly after I sat down and said that they had pulled over at the Iditarod school. The boys couldn't take the motion of the car and had to get out and settle their stomachs before making the trip home. ha.
We give good rides Karla.

Good rides indeed! I do have to caution those you want to attempt giving tire swing rides at this time to watch out for the hidden ice puddles under the tire swings. If you try to do an "around the world" spin you will lose your footing and then be dragged round and round. You will have to eventually let go which means you'll be sitting in what is now a very wet ice puddle. Then, you have to try to time your escape from the center of the "around the world" ride that is still spinning around you and the inner circle is only getting smaller and smaller the longer you wait...
lol, lol @ Karla!
Oh you girls make me laugh!
I love the pictures Marie, my sensible shoes girl!
