Motocross, chainsaws and mist
The past couple Anchorage Motocross races, I was out there on the side of the track waiting for some fun pictures of my racing family. Here is a slideshow of some of my favorites.
My brother Kris, turned 24 yesterday. We had a nice dinner with family and played some cards. Kris got a brand spankin new chainsaw. He was very excited about it.
I'm excited too. I leave for North Carolina on Tuesday. I'm looking forward to my 2 weeks there. Now I just need to tell work that I'm taking more time off... haha.
I read this the other day, it's by George MacDonald (one of my favorites):
"One who has not felt love, or faith, argues about it. But he does not have the true essence of love or faith to argue about. He has but its phantom, his own ideas which he has created himself in a vain effort to understand, and which he supposed it to be. Love cannot be argued about in its absence, for there is no reflex, no symbol of it near enough to the fact of it, to admit of just treatment by the algebra of the reason or imagination. Indeed, the very talking about it raises a mist between the mind and the vision of it. But let a man once love, and all those difficulties that appeared opposed to love will just be so many arguments for loving."

That is a quote that I had to reread. Isn't that some sort of sign of a great write? Reread and get more out of it or get his idea more understood, something like that. Anyway, one does not know love or faith without actually experiencing it, yes?
We had a great time with Kris before he had to leave. I think we should bring that nice new chainsaw with us on our trip...
