Mom's home
Mom got home late last night from visiting Millie in Seattle with her sisters, Kotya and Becca. I was able to visit with her a little this morning and I'm sure she will give you a complete update on how Millie is doing back on her blog. Make sure and check it out.

Blood Thinning
They found blood clots in Millie's arms and the doctors are going to try remove them. It involves using something to thin her blood. The doctors said that thinning her blood carries a risk of bleeding in her brain. Please pray that the blood clots in her arms can be removed without any bleeding in her brain.

Love Being Together
Our family just loves playing together... The snow and cold has made for some pretty pictures too.
Mom said that they had cut back on Millie's sedation over the weekend. The swelling has gone down and the doctors are now reducing her pain killers. The doctors said they are just waiting for Millie's brain to wake up and Adam asks for your prayers concerning this. They hope to take her tracheotomy out by the end of the week and are hoping that she will be strong enough to breathe on her own. Mom said it looks like she is just sleeping really hard.

Mom and Sisters are in Seattle
Mom, Kotya and Becca all made it to Seattle last night. They didn't get to see Millie after they got in (it was too late) but they were able to visit with her several times today. After seeing her, Mom said it will be a long way to recovery. They didn't have her sedated, but she was still in heavy sleep. Mom said it is sad to see Millie this way, but she is certain that it is good for Millie to have her sisters around. Millie wiggles her feet when they touch her toes.
Right now the doctors are waiting for the edema in her brain to go down and then they may consider moving her back to Alaska. It still may be another 7-10 days before they know that.
The girls are all sharing a 3-bed room at an inn that is located within the same hospital where Millie is. They only have to take an elevator down a few floors and they are right there with her.

Update Link for Millie
Mom asked me to forward her updates on Millie to everybody. Mom, Kotya and Becca are scheduled to fly out to Seattle a little later this afternoon. I will be riding in with them to the airport and make sure they make it out alright. I expect I will get a call from mom shortly after they arrive at the hospital in Seattle so I think I will have the first of her updates tonight.
