Playing tag with mom.

My mom tagged me for this game. The rules of the game are as follows:

Link back to the person that tagged you.
Post these rules on your blog.
Share six unimportant things about yourself.
Tag six people at the end of your entry.

1. I have 14 little nicks and cuts on my left hand. (Gardening season)
2. Last night I trapped one humongous wolf spider under a glass in my kitchen.
3. I beat Matthew in a game of Scrabble! Woo hoo!

4. My hair is split-end prone.

5. I'm considering buying another lens for my camera.

6. I only did half my workout yesterday.

Gracious, 6 people!

I don't think I have that many people regularly coming to my page. ha. So... if I can't use you mom, that leaves my options severely limited. Is it ok to use blogs other than blogspot? Is that allowed?

Oh well... I'll go ahead and tag Karla, Kim, Dad, VE Racing, Klint and Kris.

hee hee.

Memorial Day

Thank you Dan and Sandra Fleckenstein for the fun Memorial Day weekend on the Little Su! Matthew and I went with Karla and Chris and the kids out there to spend the weekend on the river beach and see if we could get any fish out of the river. Well... Matthew did. I had my camera ready just in case, but alas... no fish to show off. But lots of other pictures including a bunch of the kids, fishing and a magnificent rainbow.

It was a fun weekend.

Aunty

I'm sorry for a feller if he hasn't any aunt

To let him eat and do the things his mother says he can't.

An aunt to come a visitin' or one to go and see

Is just about the finest kind of lady there could be.

Of course she's not your mother, an' she hasn't got her ways

But a part that's most important in a feller's life she plays.

She is kind an' she is gentle, an' sometimes she's full of fun

An' she's very sympathetic when some dreadful thing you've done.

An' she likes to buy you candy, and' she's always getting toys

That you wish your Pa would get you, for she hasn't any boys.

But sometimes she's over-loving, an' your cheeks turn red with shame

When she smothers you with kisses, but you like her just the same.

The Mom

I was going through some recent pictures and found a pretty sweet picture of Karla and Raegan and wanted to post it. It also got me thinking about the enormous responsibility and the enormous joy involved in being a mom. (So I hear)

So I found some other sweet pictures of my favorite moms, Karla, Kim and my own mother, Connie.

Kim and Alexis

Mom and grandkids

Karla, Kim, Mom and me.

I love you! Here is one for you to enjoy.

Getting Outside

Shimon Summer!

I've been seeing little plants starting to grow outside. The trees have their little buds getting bigger. It's May!

We've been out on a 4-wheeler ride and had a campfire along the trail with steak chunks and chips. The first one of the year. Mom brought her little dog Chewy all bundled up in his camo. Mom even wore her new NRA hat for the event. It was a sloppy, muddy ride all the way out and back. And yes... the mosquitoes are out! Ahhh. Good times.

Klint and Kris are gearing up for motocross to start. The schedule has been re-arranged to account for the late snowfalls and as far as I know, I think the race just might actually happen this weekend.

I have gone to the park with Karla and her kids across the street from my office, another first of the summer. When the sky does decide to be sunny, it feels so good. When Karla and I were in grade school she had a reputation for giving really good tire swings. I was prone to motion sickness and so I was not a regular patron of her rides. Her boys have discovered this talent of Karla's and have begun to employ it every time they go to a park with a tire swing. Nunley Park is one such park. After Karla got them good and dizzy, they made their way to the merry-go-round and as I was in the immediate vicinity, I was nominated to power that contraption. So round and round they kept going. They actually asked me to go slower! Not long after that, they piled in the car and headed home and I crossed the street back to my office. Karla called shortly after I sat down and said that they had pulled over at the Iditarod school. The boys couldn't take the motion of the car and had to get out and settle their stomachs before making the trip home. ha.

We give good rides Karla.
